What’s a Book You Think Deserves a Sequel? (From a Pregnant Alt Wife at 23)

What’s a book you think deserves a sequel?

• if i could force one author to write a sequel right now, it would be sylvia plath with the bell jar

• i know she’s gone, but hear me out

• that ending always leaves me feeling so hollow and heavy

• esther finally gets out of the hospital but it feels so fragile… like she’s one bad day away from slipping back under that glass jar

• i want to know what happens next

• does she actually heal?

• does she find real love with someone who doesn’t try to fix her but just sits with her in the dark?

• does she write more books, travel, have a kid one day if she wants, and still keep that fire in her chest?

• i want her to live, not just survive

• another one i’d kill for a sequel is dune

• i want to see what happens after paul’s story — the golden path, the long-term consequences, the way power corrupts even the best intentions

• and honestly?

i’d love a sequel to some of the messy romance books i read as a teen

• the ones where the girl ends up with the bad boy who “changes” for her

• i want to see what happens five years later when real life hits — bills, kids, mental health, all of it

• books that leave you wondering “what happens next?” are the ones that stick with you

• they make you care about the characters like they’re real people

• and right now, pregnant and nesting, i’m extra soft for stories that feel like they could keep going

what about you? what book do you wish had a sequel?
