– i don’t practice any organized religion… i don’t go to church, temple, or follow a bunch of rules made by men, but i do believe in something way bigger than us

– i was raised kinda loose with spirituality and now me and my husband talk about it all the time — reincarnation, consciousness, soul contracts, and how we probably chose each other before we even got here

– with our baby girl kicking inside me it feels even more real… i pray in my own way, mostly just talking to the universe and saying thank you for him, for her, and for this messy beautiful life

– i love jesus’ teachings about unconditional love and forgiveness — that whole “love your neighbor as yourself” and turning the other cheek thing hits different when you’re about to be somebody’s mama

– i also really connect with buddha’s ideas on compassion and staying present… how suffering comes from holding on too tight to things, and that real peace is found by living fully in the moment instead of always chasing more

– and rumi’s poetry about love being the bridge between you and everything always makes me cry in the best way — “you are not a drop in the ocean, you are the entire ocean in a drop”… that one lives in my head rent free

– so no i don’t practice religion… but i practice love, gratitude, compassion, and trying to be a better person every single day. and right now, with my husband and our daughter on the way, that feels like more than enough ❤️
