– i used to hate the cold so much… i’d bundle up like a little burrito and complain the whole time. but now that i’m pregnant with our little girl everything feels different. the cold makes me want to stay inside curled up with my husband under big blankets, drinking hot cocoa and feeling our baby kick while the world is quiet outside. it’s actually kinda cozy now.

– living in Florida is funny though… it’s 90 degrees outside and the air conditioning is blasting so hard in every store and restaurant that i’m freezing my pregnant butt off inside. my husband is from Chicago so he endured brutal winters his whole life and now he loves the heat. he literally doesn’t even notice the freezing ac. we fight over the thermostat all the time — i want it warmer and he wants it colder lol. he’ll be walking around in shorts while i’m wrapped in a blanket like a burrito complaining my toes are cold.

– but even with our thermostat wars, i love it. my husband has become my personal heater — he’ll wrap his arms around me and my big belly and i just melt into him. the cold makes me appreciate his warmth even more.

– i wonder if our daughter will love the cold or hate it like her mommy used to. maybe we’ll bundle her up in tiny jackets and take her for winter walks… or maybe we’ll stay inside building blanket forts and teaching her that cold days (even the artificial ones from ac) are for love and cuddles and hot chocolate with extra marshmallows.

– honestly the cold doesn’t scare me anymore. it just makes me want to be closer to the people i love. life gets cold sometimes too… but having the right person makes it feel warm no matter what.
