Lately I’ve been feeling this really strong urge to get our home ready. I keep organizing drawers, washing tiny baby clothes that aren’t even here yet, folding the same onesies three times, and crying happy tears while I do it.

– My body is telling me to create a safe, warm nest for our little girl, and I can’t seem to stop.

– I never really understood what people meant when they talked about “nesting”… but now I get it. It’s this overwhelming, almost primal feeling that I need everything to feel right before she arrives.

– I want the house to feel peaceful the moment she comes home. I want her room to be soft and calm, her clothes to smell clean, and our space to feel like a safe little bubble for our family.

– It’s funny how pregnancy changes you. A few months ago I was still the wild girl who didn’t think twice about staying out late. Now I’m folding baby blankets and making sure the nursery lamp gives the perfect warm glow.

– I catch myself daydreaming about late-night feedings, about rocking her in the chair we picked out, about you coming in to check on us while I’m nursing.

– I think this is my way of showing love before she’s even here — making sure her little world is ready and waiting for her. It feels scary and beautiful at the same time.

How about you? Have you felt any nesting instincts (whether you’re pregnant or not)? Or what’s something you’ve done to prepare for a big life change? Tell us in the comments — I love hearing your stories.
