List the people you admire and look to for advice…

My husband — he’s my number one. I admire how hard he works to take care of us, how gentle he is with me even when life gets crazy, and how much he already loves our little bean. I look to him for advice on almost everything because he always puts us first and thinks things through with so much heart.

– My mom — she raised me mostly on her own and still managed to stay kind and strong. I admire her quiet toughness and the way she loves without conditions. I still call her when I need real-life mom wisdom.

– John Holt — the unschooling pioneer. His books changed how we think about raising our child. We admire his deep trust in children’s natural ability to learn and grow without coercion.

– Peter Gray — another big influence on our parenting views. His work on play and self-directed learning reminds us that kids don’t need to be controlled to become good people.

– Each other — we’re each other’s biggest source of advice and inspiration. We talk through everything, challenge each other gently, and keep reminding ourselves what really matters.

We don’t look up to politicians, billionaires, or celebrities for advice. We admire regular people who live with integrity, love fiercely, and refuse to outsource their thinking or their lives.
