ByteDance still owns a small slice, but the real power now sits with American billionaires. Ellison, one of the biggest private donors to Israel and the IDF, has poured millions into pro-Israel causes for years.

– Almost immediately after the takeover, creators noticed the shift. Palestinian voices, Gaza footage, #FreePalestine content, and even basic solidarity posts started getting shadow-banned or buried. Accounts that once reached millions suddenly hit walls. Meanwhile, pro-Israel clips kept getting pushed. It’s not random. It’s algorithmic control.

– Instagram is doing the same thing, just quieter. Meta’s “community standards” have been weaponized — Palestinian creators report constant flags, story deletions, and account suspensions. Hashtags about Gaza get throttled while sponsored content and “both sides” posts sail through. The next generation that was waking up on TikTok is now being slowly muzzled across platforms.

– People are fighting back. UpScrolled — founded by Palestinian-Australian Issam Hijaji after he lost family in Gaza — launched as a true alternative: chronological feed, no addictive algorithm, no shadow-bans except for clear illegal content. After TikTok’s takeover, it exploded. Servers crashed from the rush of creators fleeing. It hit No. 2 on the US App Store and keeps growing because people are tired of being censored.

– This isn’t about China anymore. It’s about billionaire money protecting a narrative. Larry Ellison isn’t hiding his agenda — he funds it openly. When platforms that shape what two billion people see every day start burying one side of a genocide, that’s not neutral moderation. That’s subverting free speech.

We’re done pretending this is normal. Gaza isn’t “complicated” — it’s a slaughter, and they’re trying to make sure the next generation doesn’t see it clearly. If your feed suddenly went quiet on Palestine, now you know why.

Delete the apps that silence people. Support the ones that don’t. Speak louder. Share this. The truth doesn’t need an algorithm’s permission.
