• fight club — at least 30 times. every rewatch i’m 15 again, screaming “his name is robert paulson” in the mirror with eyeliner wings sharp enough to cut glass

• the matrix — first time i saw it i was 17, high in a squat, and realized the world really is a cage with better graphics

• mad max: fury road — no dialogue needed, just engines and fire and women driving away from patriarchy

• firefly — because sometimes you just need space pirates who love each other more than the state

• the venture bros — peak anarchist cartoon. failure is freedom. family is chosen. bowie is god.

• band of brothers — not because of war, because of brotherhood without hierarchy

• the wire — best argument against the state ever filmed

• deadwood — swearingen is basically an anarchist warlord who still has a heart

• breaking bad — walter white is what happens when a man believes in private property too much

• battlestar galactica (2004) — “all this has happened before…” yeah, and it’ll happen again unless we burn the script
