nursing shortages? florida lost 11% of its RN workforce in 2024–2025. new york and california? hiring bonuses and retention rates above 90%.

sanitation workers, bus drivers—same story. weak unions = poverty wages. strong unions = living wages.

desantis says this is about “freedom.” freedom to make $53k while the cost of living in florida is now higher than california. freedom to have no power when the boss cuts your hours. freedom to die poor while cops get raises and exemptions.
