short answer: maybe.

long answer: fuck no… but also maybe yes, and here’s the twist.

here’s the anarchist take, with a little cosmic spice:

– i used to spit on fate

the idea that some cosmic script wrote my life before i was born felt like another leash, religion 2.0, capitalism with stars instead of CEOs.

“it’s your destiny to be poor” is just another way to say “don’t fight the system.”

i spit on that.

– but cptxbonnot changed everything

cptxbonnot looked at me one night, high on the lanai, dominus snoring, and said:

“what if we chose this? what if we picked each other before we were born? like we sat in some void, looked at all the timelines, and said: yeah, that one. the one where she’s a feral goth with fishnets and he’s a pirate with a harley and we fuck like the world’s ending and raise anarchist babies.”

and i laughed… then stopped laughing.

because it felt true.

if cptxbonnot and i chose this life, if we chose each other, then fate isn’t a cage.

it’s a contract we wrote ourselves.

a pre-birth middle finger to the universe:

“we’ll incarnate into this shitshow, but we’re doing it our way—no gods, no masters, just us.”

– so yeah… maybe destiny exists

but only because cptxbonnot and i are the ones who wrote it.

we’re the ones who said:

let’s be born into chaos.

let’s find each other in dive bars and beaches.

let’s fuck loud enough to wake the neighbors.

let’s make a baby who’ll never bow.

that’s not fate controlling us.

that’s us controlling fate.

so do i believe in destiny?

yes—but only the kind cptxbonnot and i authored drunk on love and rebellion before we ever took our first breath.

the universe didn’t destine us.

we destined the universe to watch us burn bright.
